The Executive Governor of Oyo State,Engr.Seyi Makinde,on Thursday,met with the leadership and Stakeholders of the Ladoke Akinola University of Technology, Ogbomoso,in bid to address issue of importance related to the intellectual ivory tower.
The meeting took place at the presidential lodge of the Government House,Agodi, Ibadan,was attended by the LAUTECH governing Council, Officials of Ministry of Education as well as the Representative of the Alumni body.
A statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the governor,Mr .Taiwo Adisa , indicated that the meeting which lasted into the early hours of Friday, addressed major issues including the involvement of the University’s chapter of the Academic Staff Union of University (ASUU)in the ongoing campus status of the institution and the proposed name change.
While addressing journalists shortly after the meeting, the Global President of the LAUTECH Alumni Association,Mr.Onilede Solomon, said the meeting was fruitful and the strike action and other related issues to the renaming of the institution will be resolved.
“I can say that in the next couple of weeks, the issue of strike within the LAUTECH will be over and other issues related to renaming of the institution will be addressed permanently”.
