Governor Seyi Makinde has pledged that his administration would place a premium on indigenous contractors to improve the local economy of Oyo state.
Governor Makinde stated this while speaking at Ileya get together programme, organised by the Oyo North Senatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in the 2019 election, Hon. Mulikat Adeola-Akande in Ogbomoso.
According to the governor, since I assumed office, I have not awarded any contract to anybody but I am promising you that when it is time to award contracts, I will not award contracts to those who will ensure capital flight,” he said.
Makinde, who was in Ogbomosho for the first time as governor, maintained that his administration will strive to develop local economy to ensure money-flow within the state to improve people’s standard of living.
He however assured that his government will not marginalise any geopolitical zone, adding that appointments and other dividends of democracy will be equitably distributed across the state.
The governor used the ocassion to appreciate the people of the senatorial district for their support and promised that his government will do everything possible to fulfil all its promises.
The governor stated further that he will run an inclusive government that will carry all and sundry along in decision-making, while allowing the people of the state a voice in the running of its affairs.
Earlier, Hon. Akande-Adeola expressed delight at the governor’s presence and prayed for the success of his government.
The event had in attendance top government functionaries and chieftains of the PDP, which include the deputy speaker, OYHA, Abiodun Fadeyi, Majority leader, Sanjo Adedoyin, Chairman House Committee on Information and Media, Kazeem Olayanju, Afeez Ona Ara, Chief Jacob Adetoro, Pa Sunday Alabi, among others.
