Following the successful outing at recent presidential campaign rally of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP),in Ibadan, Oyo State capital, former deputy governor of the state, Alhaji Hazeem Gbolarumi,has said that the presidential candidate of the party, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar,would record a landslide victory at the February 25 poll and millions of G-5 can’t stop it .
Speaking on the G-5 agitation, Gbolarumi noted that the South comprising south west and south south,has held the number one office in Nigeria twice for a period of 14 years combined together.
He said former president Olusegun Obasanjo from South West led this country for eight years, former president Goodluck Jonathan held same office for about six years, making it fourteen years from the south.
yet to be sought by the governor.
In his words: “my relationship with the Governor is good and very cordial. What happened in the past is all politics and politics is a game of interest. We agree to disagree and vice versa. If he comes to ask for my support why not I will support him. He has not invited me so, I’ll stay at home. He has not invited me maybe he’s taking his time you know we still have more time.”
The former deputy governor who maintained that both Teslim Folarin of APC and Bayo Adelabu are both his younger brother he respects so much however, expressed optimism that Makinde would win the 2023 governorship election convincingly regardless of the challenges within the PDP saying “the people of Oyo state will never ever work or vote for any APC with what is already on ground in terms of hardship and suffering.”
